New Chicago Tobacco Laws July 1, 2016: GET THE SIGN

As many tobacco dealers in Chicago know, it has become more and more difficult to run a tobacco business in the City of Chicago. The laws are getting stricter and the penalties are going up. Many of my clients are exhausted and fed up with all of the regulation.

One of the new major changes in the law is that on July 1, 2016, it will be illegal to sell tobacco or tobacco accessories to anyone under 21 in the City of Chicago. That's right: 18, 19, and 20 year olds can't buy tobacco in the City any more. That's going to cut into profits in a big way.

There is also new signage that a tobacco dealer MUST post. If not, the dealer can certainly expect a hefty fine...or even revocation. We expect that many owners will be called to City Hall for violations. It's always a difficult time. We can represent your business if that happens.

Do you need a new sign? Don't be caught without one.

Email me or call. I'll send it.
